VeryGames win MSI Beat it! 2013

VeryGames have added another trophy to their cabinet after winning MSI Beat it! 2013 by defeating fnatic in the final 2-0 (16-12 on de_dust2 & 16-10 on de_mirage), securing themselves a $10,000 prize.

The second day of MSI Beat it! 2013 started with two semi-final matches, first of which saw fnatic take down Australia's Vox Eminor 2-0 (16-6 on de_inferno & 16-3 on de_mirage).

In the other match, which took place on the stage, VeryGames also had little work to do against SK Gaming who eventually fell 16-8 on de_nuke and 16-7 on de_dust2.

Fnatic and VG then waited around three hours for the final, as a DotA match was taking place on the stage, and after that they started their clash for $10,000 on de_dust2.

shox fared well on the main stage

VeryGames opened up with a flawless pistol ace by Richard "shox" Papillon and went up 5-0 early on the CT side, but fnatic started coming back by stringing four in a row, including a great 2-on-4 by Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg and the new addition Markus "pronax" Wallsten.

The next few rounds went to VG, and Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux's had an important 1-on-1 clutch to keep the momentum on his team's side.

The half ended 10-5 in favor of the French-Belgian squad, and as soon as the sides changed, Papillon took matters into his own hands again and incredibly recorded another pistol ace.

That didn't clinch the match for his team though, as the Swedes immediately responded by winning an eco after a couple kills from Jesper "jw" Wecksell and a triple from Wallsten.

Fnatic eventually reduced the deficit all the way to 12-13, but Kevin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans' squad reacted on time and closed the map off 16-12.

fnatic lost all pistol rounds but still hung on in both maps

Moving on to de_mirage, VeryGames once again took the pistol, this time starting on the T-side. After the necessary anti-ecos by fnatic, several rounds were exchanged as the ESWC runner-ups went up 6-2.

Nevertheless, fnatic found the strength to overturn their fortunes, as they won all seven rounds until the end of the half for a 9-6 advantage.

Another lost pistol round cost them the hard-earned lead, giving away the momentum and seeing VG get back up, 10-9.

The Swedes finally won their first T-side round for 10-10, but their economy was immediately reset which they were unable to recover from until the end of the match, as VeryGames clinched a 16-10 victory for the overall triumph at MSI Beat it! 2013 and a $10,000 cheque.
